NORTHERN IRELAND: LEGAL ACTION LAUNCHED AGAINST UK GOVERNMENTS DELAY TO EXTEND FULL SAME-SEX MARRIAGE TO REGION BY JANUARY.
The Government has revealed that same-sex couples will not be able to convert existing civil partnerships to a marriage. Same-sex couples will not be able to get married in a religious ceremony. Couples and a Christian Minister to launch legal action against delays to extend full same-sex marriage to the region by January.
The Press conference at the LGBT centre in Belfast City Centre was attended by Minister of All Souls Church Chris Hudson, Phoenix Law solicitor Ciaran Moynagh and Cara McCann and Amanda McGurk - a couple who are in a civil partnership together.
